1. Payment Terms

Monthly charges and subsequent renewals are payable in advance. A security deposit (Pre-Authorization) will be charged to the credit card. Release/Refund of the deposit will take at least 30 working days, which will be auto-credited to your available credit card limit.

Traffic fines are cleared the same day once invoicing is done. Traffic fines will be automatically deducted from the customer's respective Credit/Debit card by Legend World Rent a Car. Customers are not permitted to pay fines on their own.

1.    Outstanding amounts are subject to charges irrespective of the rental agreement status (open or closed), which includes traffic fines and other charges. Two consecutive emails will be sent to follow up on the outstanding amount. If you fail to reply within 48 hours, the vehicle will be immobilized to recover the outstanding balance.

2.    Legend will not be responsible for any fines or calamities that occur after vehicle immobilization, as it is initiated only after a 48-hour gap with two email notices regarding the outstanding amount.

3.    In the case of accidents or fines, any person driving the vehicle apart from the main hirer must be approved and registered with Legend Rent a Car. Failure to comply will result in the customer bearing all fines or insurance rejections.

2. Deposit Payment Terms

Price Includes: Vehicle Basic Insurance / Vehicle 3rd Party Insurance, service, maintenance, and a suitable vehicle for replacement in the event of normal service, breakdown, or accident.

3. Parkin Application & Parking Charges

The Customer shall ensure that the Parkin application is installed, activated, and the rented vehicle is properly registered under the application for the purpose of parking payments during the rental period.

Any parking fines, penalties, or violations arising due to failure to register the vehicle, insufficient balance, non-payment, or improper use of the Parkin application shall be solely borne by the Customer.

Upon return, replacement, or exchange of the vehicle, the Customer must immediately remove or modify the vehicle details from the Parkin application accordingly.

4. Insurance Excess

An insurance excess per claim is applicable in the event of all accidents where either the customer is at fault or where the fault cannot be attributed to a 3rd party or unknown 3rd party ("Hit & Run" cases).

5. Hirer Insurance Clause

The minimum age for the Driver/Hirer is 24 years old. The driver/hirer shall hold a valid UAE driving license suitable for the respective vehicle, including drivers with an International Driving License.

A hirer/driver may drive the vehicle with less than six months on their UAE driving license, provided it is supported with a one-year home country license.

If the user is 22 years old and holds a UAE license of 6 months or above, a 10% surcharge will apply on the estimate.

6. Other Charges — Salik, Fines & Convenience Fee

All Salik / Abu Dhabi Toll and other transactions will be charged as per the actual Salik rate determined by the respective Authority, with an admin charge of 10% per transaction. VAT will be charged on the amount as per applicable law.

All traffic fines will be charged as per actual, with knowledge fees imposed by the authorities, along with a 10% management fee.

Convenience Fee: A convenience fee of 2.5% will be applicable on the total payment amount, including rental and other service charges on the contract.

In the case of early return on daily and weekly bookings, there will be no refund on the convenience fee.

7. Block Fines & Black Point Transfer

4.    Any blocked fines that include black points will be communicated to the customer via email.

5.    If the customer does not respond within 24 hours from the email sent, an additional charge of AED 250 will be invoiced to the agreement for transferring the black points to the customer's driving license.

6.    Legend Rent-A-Car's PRO will begin the process of transferring blocked fines after 24 hours from the email notification if there is no response.

8. Police Report

Submission of a police report is mandatory in all cases of an accident (either a customer Green or Red report).

9. Premature Off-Hiring

No off-hiring is permitted for the first period of a Monthly Rental (minimum 21 days). The pro-rata rate applies after the completion of the first month. Pro-rata does not apply for rentals less than 1 month from the date of hire.

10. Agreement Termination (Lease)

There is a minimum commitment period of 3 months during which termination is not permissible. If termination is sought before the completion of this initial period, a penalty in the form of a 1-month rental fee will be applicable.

11. Mileage

The kilometer restriction is mentioned on the tariff chart for a specified vehicle. Mileage in excess will be charged at an additional rate of AED 0.40 per km.

12. Replacement Vehicle

In the event of service or maintenance, a standard replacement vehicle will be provided temporarily, subject to availability and necessity.

A replacement will not be provided if no final police report is submitted in the event of an accident. In cases of drink-driving, insurance will not cover the vehicle and the full repair estimate will be charged to the customer.

13. Off-Road Charges & Liabilities

Insurance does not cover off-road usage of the vehicle. The customer will be liable for any damage caused and all charges arising out of such use.

14. Airport Parking

Airport parking is not allowed. If the vehicle is found parked at airport surroundings or in airport parking areas, all total parking charges and fines will be paid by the customer.

15. General Rental Terms

7.    Unlimited kilometers on Daily/Weekly rentals. On monthly rentals, kilometers are limited as per the tariff card/agreement. Excess kilometers are charged at 40 fils per km.

8.    The customer will be supplied with a well-maintained Legend World Rent-A-Car fleet vehicle for the agreed limited period.

9.    Rental rates include third-party insurance with excess, periodic vehicle servicing, maintenance, roadside assistance, and an accident replacement vehicle. Full insurance (CDW / Zero Liability) is available at the time of rental at an extra cost.

10. No Smoking Policy: Smoking is strictly prohibited in all rented vehicles. In cases where a smoking smell, upholstery damage, or cleaning is required, charges will be generated accordingly. The minimum penalty is AED 500 (excluding VAT/service charges).

11. Additional Driver: AED 35 per day × number of days rented, or AED 200 per month × number of months rented.

12. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is available at the time of rental at an extra cost.

13. A flat tire or a vehicle without fuel is not considered a breakdown. Assistance may be provided but an additional charge will apply depending on the customer's location.

14. Accident insurance is valid only with a police report. Without a police report, the customer will be required to bear all costs.

15. Vehicles are to be driven within the UAE only.

16. Payment: Directly by credit card and in advance. Cash rentals require an AED 3,000 cash deposit along with the rental amount in advance.

17. On a monthly rental, the minimum rental period is 21 days. A daily/weekly rate will apply if the car is returned early.

18. Delivery charge: AED 50.00 / Collection charge: AED 50.00 per way within city limits. Charges for other Emirates should be discussed with sales staff.

19. Pro-rata rate applies after completion of the first month. Pro-rata does not apply for rentals less than 1 full month.

20. A 10% traffic fines admin fee will be applied and may change according to location, Emirate, and updated rules and regulations.

21. Dynamic Salik charges with admin fee will be charged per crossing.

22. Refueling Surcharge: A 20% refueling surcharge will be applied if the vehicle is not returned with the same fuel level as at checkout. Extra fuel will not be refunded.

23. Traffic Fines, Salik, Parking & Parkonic: All fines, Salik (toll), and parking charges during the rental period will be borne by the renter and will be charged the same day.

16. Undertaking — Abu Dhabi Free-Flow Parking

For Abu Dhabi free-flow parking, the payment link will be shared by Company staff. Failure to complete the parking payment within the given time will result in parking fines, which shall be fully borne by the customer.
